Right Brain, meet Left Brain

We build better websites because we believe that creative challenges are best solved by both hemispheres of the brain.

From the right brain we bring stunning visual design, outside-the-box thinking, and the empathy required to understand our clients’ challenges. Our experience building brands is important to every website we build because we understand that a brand is not a logo, it is an experience. It is the sum total of every interaction between a consumer/client and a business, and the resulting impression. A website is often the first of those interactions.

From the left brain we bring a passion for code and structure. There’s nothing like overcoming a technological challenge to create a better website. Because every client has a different story to tell, each website requires a different set of solutions. We don’t always know the answer, but we always find the answer.

Our Process

1. Cram Session

process-sitemapWe begin every project with research and planning. We establish the goals of the project, analyze the competition & industry, gather information from our client, and develop a solution. We use Basecamp project management software to communicate with our clients, establish milestones, exchange files, and track progress. It keeps us on track and allows our clients visibility to the progress.

2. Design Session

process-sketchThis is where the creative juices start flowing. The concepts and ideas that we’ve developed begin to blossom and come to life through visual design. From the overall look & feel to the smallest details, we design a website that is a stunning visual representation of your business. Whether we’re designing a website for an established brand or developing the brand in concert with the website project, our brand building experience is key at this phase. Your website may be the single most important touch point between your business and your audience, so brand integrity and consistency are paramount. So few web design firms have the experience we have developing corporate and brand identities.

3. Jam Session

This is where everything comes together—the factory, if you will. With both hemispheres buzzing (usually with a little help from caffeine), we combine the strategies and visuals with technology. We write the code, implement necessary technologies, and build out your website. A lot happens during this phase: front-end programming, back-end programming, production. Some of the components we offer to create the perfect website for your business are: a Content Management System, e-commerce shopping cart, blog and/or other social media tools, and also our custom-built, web-based extranet for exchanging files. Want to take it a step further? We have created custom web applications for clients in both PHP and Ruby on Rails.process-gears

The final steps of this phase include functional and usability testing, Google Analytics integration, and any necessary client training (eg-CMS, Google Analytics).
