When we were approached to develop an identity for a new Cash for Trees program for Pacific Gas & Electric Company or PG&E, one of the largest gas and electric utilities in the United States, we were charged up.

The identity and direct mail pieces were directed at orchard farmers in California’s central valley, who would receive a cash incentive for allowing PG&E to trim their trees to keep them away from power lines. The identity we developed was very straightforward, and was considered key to the outreach effort, which was so successful that PG&E quickly went through their funding for the program.
